Research shows almost 3/4 of services are failing to treat cancer patients quickly enough.
Currently, hospitals are targeted to commence Cancer treatment within 62 days of an urgent GP referral. The BBC article published 13th June 2019, states that 94 out of 131 cancer services failed to commence treatment within this time frame.
Cancer charities have stressed their concerns that the longer wait times puts patients at risk.
